Fresh Opportunities & Stories
Learn a Skill.
Build a Career. Lead Change.
Six transformative programs designed to unlock every young African's potential β all completely free to apply.

Leadership Development Academy
Our flagship Leadership Development Academy is a transformative 12-week program that equips young Africans with the civic engagement skills, critical thinking frameworks, and community problem-solving tools they need to drive real-world change. Participants engage in weekly workshops, peer learning circles, guest lectures from established African leaders, and a capstone community project. By the end of the program, graduates leave with a personal leadership portfolio, a network of over 100 peers, and the confidence to lead in their communities.

Skills & Apprenticeship Network
The Skills & Apprenticeship Network connects youth with verified industry partners for hands-on vocational training in high-demand trades. From fashion design and ICT to engineering, construction, cosmetology, and agribusiness, apprentices spend 6 to 12 months working alongside experienced professionals. All placements are paid, and graduates receive a nationally recognised certificate of competency. This program is YELF's largest by reach, targeting youth who may not pursue university but want a credible, income-generating skill.

Community Impact Projects
Community Impact Projects empowers youth to design, fund, and execute real social change initiatives in their own communities. Participants are trained in project management, community needs assessment, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and impact measurement. Each team receives a small seed grant and coaching support to bring their project to life β from clean water initiatives to school renovation drives and youth sports leagues. This program runs on an ongoing basis with new cohorts starting every quarter.

Robotics & Coding Initiative
The Robotics & Coding Initiative is a 16-week STEM education program designed to inspire Africa's next generation of tech innovators. Starting from secondary school, students get hands-on experience building robots, writing code, and exploring artificial intelligence and software development. The program partners with leading tech companies to provide equipment and mentors, culminating in a regional robotics competition. No prior experience is needed β just curiosity and a passion to build.

Career Development Program
The Career Development Program is an 8-week intensive designed to bridge the gap between education and employment for young Africans. Participants receive professional CV writing coaching, mock interviews, LinkedIn profile building, and career strategy sessions. Through our corporate partnerships, graduates gain direct access to internship openings, job fairs, and referral networks at top companies across Ghana and the region. This program is ideal for recent graduates and final-year students ready to launch their careers.

Entrepreneurship Development Program
From idea to launch, the Entrepreneurship Development Program gives aspiring founders the full toolkit to build a sustainable business. Over 10 weeks, participants go through business planning, financial literacy, market research, branding, digital marketing, and investor pitch coaching. Each cohort member is paired with an experienced entrepreneur mentor and gains access to our seed funding network. Many of our graduates have gone on to launch businesses that employ other youth in their communities.
